To install the Xlight FTP server as a manual starting service - In the DOS command prompt, change the directory to the folder where the Xlight FTP Server is installed. Enter “xlight –install”. From the service window of the control panel, make sure the Xlight FTP server is installed as a manual starting service.
To install the Xlight FTP server as an automatically starting service - In the DOS command prompt, change the directory to the where that the Xlight FTP Server is installed. Enter “xlight –installauto”. From the service window of the control panel, make sure the Xlight FTP server is installed as an automatically starting service.
To uninstall the Xlight FTP server from the system service - In the DOS command prompt, change the directory to the folder where the Xlight FTP Server is installed. Enter “xlight –uninstall”. From the service window of the control panel, make sure the Xlight FTP server service is removed.
To show the Xlight FTP server taskbar icon while running as a service - When the Xlight FTP server is running as a service, you can use the command line option to show its main program window. At the DOS command prompt, enter “xlight –showicon” to show the Xlight FTP server taskbar icon. After the taskbar icon is shown from service mode, you can restore the main Xlight window from this icon.
To hide the Xlight FTP Server taskbar icon while running as a service - At the DOS command prompt, enter “xlight –hideicon” to show the Xlight FTP Server taskbar icon. It only works when the Xlight FTP server is running as a service.
To start all virtual servers automatically when the Xlight FTP server program is running -
This option can be used if you want to start the Xlight FTP server automatically in Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows ME, where the system service function is unavailable. You could put a shortcut of the Xlight FTP server program with the command line parameter "-startall" in the startup folder or in the registry entry "\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run".
